SANDsational Race @ Sentosa

Preamble: This post contains many pictures. If you have a 56k dialup, I'm awfully sorry. Also, the videos posted here are in 3gp format. Most of them are hyperlinked from the pictures. "Videos available" will be used to denote the availability of them. Use Real Player to view them. If you don't have Real player, then wait for me to find time to convert them to another format. Refer to a previous post for videos from the dry run.

P.S. You may have to refresh the page a few times because my server times out after not being able to load all the pictures at one go.

My time estimation is really bad. No, I'm not always late. I'm more often than not, early. Too early. While most of the others arrived after 9, I reached Harbour Front at 8.20, feeling dumb. But anyway, more people came towards 9/10 and some of us played bridge before boarding the bus to Sentosa. At Sentosa, we boarded the Blue Line to Underwater World -

While others wore a black top, Ye Qing decided hot pink was a great colour -

Okay, so we went to the area behind Underwater World and started playing some Ice Breakers. First game was the conveyor belt. Alex made us lie down, but apparently, the sun decided to compete with Sing Hwa and all of us tried to shield from it -

But anyway, the game was played -

After that there was "Blow, Wind, Blow" and "The Finger Game" (pffft! stop thinking dirty!), which were quickly played -

Okay, so ended the ice breakers and went to do the "Spider Web". The big group of us were divided into two groups, which would alternate between doing "Trust Fall" and "Spider Web". As the girls would have guessed, Sing Hwa was complaining about the lack of strong people / excess of girls to catch his fall, so instead of falling, he sat down, but was given another try, to which, he performed better. (:

Can't say much about Spider Web, though. Pictures courtesy of Christina -

But anyway, we went to somewhere near the Visitor's Center and while the mentors and a representative from each station set off to their stations to prepare them. Those who stayed with Alex waited for the participants to arrive and played more ice breakers.

And Alex taught them the mucho clap and 姑娘 clap (videos available!) -

And Yik Hung demonstrates -

And so at 2.40, the race started (and the food came =X). Because my station was based at the Southernmost Bridge, I shall be narrating biasedly towards my experience. ^^ But of course, I shall collect some narrations from others' blogs too. (: The group which came first was the one from our class - Yik Hung, Sing Hwa, Ye Qing and Peidi. Since they've played the game before, we made things a little harder for them by making them turn 3 rounds before transfering the water. Despite Sing Hwa's poor performance during the dry run, the group did things extremely quickly. Videos available!

After Group 2, there was a long lag and Christina continued her hyper screaming mode (which was present and headache-inducing-if-it-was-in-a-different-environment throughout the whole day =P), adding on claims of her love for random people. Here's a video of Christina proclaiming her love for alex.

Other random things Christina / the rest of us did were like..
- Screaming at the top of her lungs, attracting a lot of attention
- Scream "Yum Seng" before drinking water, thus attracting attention as well
- Acted a random drama with Xin Miao (which Xin Miao reiterated her request for it not to be posted)
- Taught us some fruit song acapella
- Kenneth taught us some special JJC clap

Anyway, Group 3 lagged, so Group 3 and Group 4 came together. Alex made them shout from the topmost level of each tower, "SANDSATIONAL RACE" at the loudest possible volume to decide which group should play the game first. Before each group went out of sight, we did a "GROUP __ GOOD LUCK!" shout from the bridge. So cool (: The rest of the groups came and left.. Nothing much happened.. So, here're some group photos ^^

Meanwhile, at another station (Pictogram) -

So we made our way back to the football field after all the groups had passed by our station. There, some random things happened.. Such as Sharon putting grass on Weili's hair -

And Weili trying to tie Xin Miao's hair -

And Ye Qing trying to be fierce - too bad I don't have a photo for this.

The champions -

Some group photos -

Yik Hung receiving the prize:

Okay, I know I've posted many many photos, but there are still some photos which Yik Hung / Sharon have not sent me, and I haven't posted all the photos here either (probably about.. 70%?). Once I have received the rest of the files I will update this post, zip the files up, and put them up for download.

Yupps. That's all from me now. (:
