I can say from experience that the food there is SUPERB. Non-vegetarians have been there and agree that it's better than non-vegetarian food. When we go there, it would be Asian Buffet, and it will not disappoint.

There's a vegetarian restaurant I know that has really excellent buffet, but it's at Balestier Road. Would it be alright? I'm not very sure which area to look for. Found a few at Clark Quay area (near the MRT?) but I don't know how the food taste like there.

Hey SaEints! Your very own professor is back to make a few announcement! First of all, congratulations to all NS men that u gonna received our first new year ang bao from government! (including me myself!) $400 for lower-income group, it is being guage by the type of residential u are staying, $300 for thos average and high-income group. In additional, NS men gonna received another $100. And those who have CPF, we gonna received additional $200 for average and high income group while $250 for lower-income group. So..it mean we guys are rich!! haha..Alright! shall cut my bullshit!

Firstly, could we all hang out after the release of 'A' level results which is tentatively to be the first week of March. I am thinking of a really really really late and crazy outing le. I kinda of miss u guys though. If possible, we go catch a movie, have a good meal and grab some drinks along the river? yeah

Secondly, Jedi requested a class chalet. Well..personally i dun mind but i have pass out yet. So what i can do maybe it to book for u all, then u guys check in. I might just pop by to stay let say 2 nights at most during my walking-out days. Do let me know ya!

Hey SaEints! Prom is over le! I hope everyone had enjoyed themselves especially those newfound couples. "Go where hanky-panky ar?!?!" Alright...shall spare them here.

Hmm.... May I propose a class outing to the Singapore Zoological Garden on the 10th December, Monday. Alternatively, we can have a class dinner somewhere around 20++ December. Definitely, you guys gonna be busy. May i suggest that we don't meet up on the eve of public holidays?!??!

On the other hand, may i have a copy all the photos from the senior promenade 2007 (burned into a disc). I may then be able to compile them in a DVD and distribute on the day of the release of GCE 'A' Level results. Please do give me a copy of them either on the class outing or class dinner.

Chalet's over! I had a great time catching up with people. Anyways I didn't see a lot of photos taken..this is bad. We have no collection of these memories! All the stupid waiting at the wet and wild shelter, all the screaming atop the rides, the crazy spin-the-bowl thingy at the playground, the bbq, the murderer games. What are we going to there?
27th November 2007:
Once checked in, we will first prepare for our dinner (BBQ). Everyone will have to play a part. There will be 4 BBQ pits(mini) with 5 people (max) attached to it. Those being assign to their respective BBQ pits will be in charge of cooking food in ur unique way. The rest will be preparing the raw food and distribute them according to the 4 groups.

There will be some sort of informal graduation ceremony going on after we finished cooking the food. We gonna toast! And MRS tan will be giving out the special gift!!!

Afterwhich, it is free time! Own self own target! Wanna play mahjong? PLAY! Wanna watch movie? WATCH! Wanna play basketball? PLAY! Wanna go beach and see stars? GO! etc...

28th November 2007:
I'm not very sure are u guys interested in doing kaYaking(need to pay)? If you are, please let me know ASAP! i need to book the facilities at the nearby Sea Sport Club. Alternatively, we can play beach volleyball, swim at the beach, go escape theme park or even cycle! This meant for those who are staying till the second day. We may have to settle our dinner outside.

What to bring?
Well...As usual, bring your clothes, shoes (complusory) if u are doing kayaking, towel and undergarments, toiletries, your handphone charge with the additional socket, the fixed charge of $20 bucks for the chalet, variable charge for the second day lunch and dinner and entertainment, DVDs and VCDs, mahjong sets, soccer or basketball court.

NOTE: The chalet is rather small, nonetheless we have 2 units which is about 4 rooms, 2 kitchen and 2 living rooms. There is NO two-pin plug provided! Please bring it yourself. Best still, bring those multi-plug 1. The chalet is located very near the pasir ris park playground and beach. On top of that there is a basketball court, a mini-arcade room, jackpot room and a big field. So...YOU MIGHT WANT TO BRING MORE COINS, BASKET OR SOCCER BALLs!

Most of you are glad the essay paper is over. So what's for case
studies? As usual, my take is NEVER spot as Cambridge is avoiding to
be predictable and will catch you by surprise.

Though my take is to study everything, we can still draw
some 'hints' from the essay paper and have some focus for case study
tomorrow.

Below is input from Mr Andrew Tan and myself.

REMEMBER: IT'S NOT A PREDICTION! YOU WILL BE REALLY SORRY AND UPSET
IF WHAT IS BELOW DOESN'T APPEAR FOR CASE STUDY. THIS IS JUST FOR YOU
TO FOCUS - STILL, STUDY EVERYTHING IS THE BEST.

MICRO
(1) A possible MICRO-CASE STUDY on MARKET STRUCTURE and ECONOMIES OF
SCALE.

Cambridge seems to be have carefully avoided setting a 'meaty
question' on market structure. The question on monopoly is only
scratching the surface - perhaps they are " indirectly" dropping a
strong hint that they are reserving the "meaty questions" for case
study tomorrow! Part(b) which is on alternative theories and not the
usual market structure question reinforces this suspicion.

(2) Demand/supply determinants and govt intervention.
Possible case - oil-related. Govt intervention in this context is to
prevent both "cost of living" ( equity reason - avoid socio-
political unrest like in Myanmar) as well as "business cost" from
spiralling out of control ( avoid oil-induced inflationary
pressures derailing economic growth).
The other possible case study involving demand/supply and govt
intervention could be the currency markets e.g. fixing exchange
rates.

REMINDER: IT DOES NOT MEAN A CONTEXT ON OIL WILL APPEAR TOMORROW -
IT'S ALWAYS A HOT ISSUE BUT CAMBRIDGE JUST WON'T SET A QUESTION ON
IT. RATHER, THE CONCEPTS DEMAND AND SUPPLY ARE NOT TESTED.

MACRO:
(3) They have noticeably avoided questions related to monetary
policy (be it interest rate - Monetary Transmission Mechanism or
more important to Singapore will be exchange rate centred policy
emphsise by MAS and inflation (overheating) for essays. A topic to
watch out for tomorrow.

(4) They are also leaving room for questions on international trade,
protectionism and exchange rate for case study. So, the so-called
hot issues might make an appearance here. But, since a question on
BOT deficits appeared in the essay, the focus is unlikely to be on
US-China Trade deficit. We have actually covered on this issue in
post-prelim lecture 2 essay by CJC.

(5) Unemployment? Perhaps, in the context of our ageing
population.

(6) Rise of China/India. This issue has many possible applications
spanning the entire spectrum of macro economics.

Our prelim is on this context and many case studies by other JCs are
also on this issue.

I have uploaded all the 2007 School Prelim paper onto IVLE. Please access and look through them. You are advised to read through other schools paper as this year is the first sitting of the syllabus. Papers from other schools are more realiable in terms of subjects requirements. On the other hand, I have left a set of H2 Computing Speciment paper with Alex. You may ask him to get a copy for you. Please note that questions in the Specimen paper are from N2001 to N2003 questions. Some of these questions are not in the syllabus. Furthermore, you are encouraged to revise the more recent papers from 2004 to 2006. Answers done up by your fellow classmates can be downloaded from IVLE.

Please keep working on GP consistently! Particularly if you scored 'E' or lower, you need to practice regularly from NOW onwards. Feel free to pass me your work to mark. If you leave it in my pigeonhole, you can pick it up by 1pm the next day.

Alternatively, once you are on study leave, you may also email in your work (word doc. preferable). This is not advised for those who are very weak in grammar or who have bad handwriting - you need to practice actual writing!

I have attached some materials on revision strategies which I went through earlier. Practice papers are available in the photocopying shop.

End-of-year Chalet cum Gathering!

Hi people! Congrats to all of us! we are graduated!!! I have quite a number of things to announce so pay attention to everything.

Firstly, i have not received full payment from the class for the graudation day present. Can those who have not paid, please kindly pay $3 to me tomorrow! (Friday, 12 Oct 2007)

Secondly, we gonna have a party tomorrow as well. I will be in charge of bringing all the junk food. For those who happen to see this post and wish to contribute, please do so! Your effort is very much appreciated!

Thirdly, I would appreciate everyone to give me all your photos/clips/videos with regard to any class-related activites be it outings, chalets, CIP... I would later get someone to burn it into a CD-rom to give everyone during the chalet!

Last but not least, OUR CLASS CHALET! This year, it is kinda of unfortunate or unlucky! i couldn't get any big chalet! Nevertheless, i managed to holiday chalet flat at paris ris. To ensure that everyone have a comfortable living area, i booked 2 units of 3-rooms flats.

I can guarantee that this year food is much more better! We gonna have fresh seafoods straight from pasir pajang wholesale centre. It's definitely worth it! Furthermore, we going to trouble Khai Shin to import our drinks and snacks from MALAYSIA! haha...(singapore high MPM!)

Allow me to do a break down... IF we have 25 members who paid 25, we gonna have $625

Stay-over $300 for 2 nights with 2 units
BBQ food for 25pax 25 x 8 = $200
Drinks and snacks = $125 convert into RM287.5 <----haha! buy tons of food! Please also note that you might also need to bring additional money during the stay for other activities orh...it is not like last year. <----you know what i mean! =]

access rights to add and remove members from the 1) membership and
leadership positions and 2) Major Activities. The only thing you
cannot do is create Major Activities which only your teachers-in-
charge can do. For missing Major Activities, Chairpersons need to
refer to teacher-in-charge to create for you.

1) Check that there are no duplications of the same event in a
different name, the year of the activity is correct. Any typo
errors should be indicated and highlighted to Chairpersons. It is
not required to have the major activity with its year e.g. 24th
Asian Youth Championships, as these activities will rolled over to
subsequent years.

2) For activities under Academic/Department, please refer to
respective teacher-in-charge of the activity.

3) For Addition or Removal, please refer to your Chairperson or
Secretary

5) For new major activities refer first to your Chairperson. If
it is not under academic/department/NA or others, refer to teacher-

6) There should be no claiming for CCA Orientation and Openhouse

Hey ppl! Poser suggests that we should have a party/dinner or something else? Personally, I feel that we could hold a small party in school next friday cum teachers' day celebration.

This time round rather than going out for lunch or blah blah....I suggests that everyone prepare their own food and bring it to school. PINIC style. Like a group of people go and buy or homemade foods such as cream puffs, eclair, sandwichese, potatoes chips, marshmallows etc... Gooi will defintely in charge of drinks since he got his driver to fetch him to school everyday! On top of that, we could order pizzas too! Yeah...that's it! Hopefully, those who can view the class blog can pass down the message. In this way, we could invite teachers too!

hey!

I guess everyone in the class or some of my friends must be wondering why i'm giving ping-pong ball keychains around? Well...well...well... let me clarify this:

The purpose of giving my bashmates and friends is a token to show my blessings for the coming Prelims and 'A' levels since they are coming around the corner. The different color of bell classified different groups of people. So you all figure it out yourself bah...

I actually hope that those who received the keychain could hang it up on ur bags but nevertheless, anywhere will do la. It's your property anyway! You want to burn it, drink it, cut it, play with it or fantasize with it...up to you! Even though i witness act of vandalism of my precious ping-pong balls, but again it is your property. You should learn to have a sense of ownership!

While doing the keychains, I managed to do some soul-searching. Don't know why, it just hit me so badly last night while mugging for mock-prelim history paper. I just realised that I have not achieved much for this entire 2 months (to be precise). Times fly so fast! It's already 13th of August!

GOD DAMN IT! IT'S GOD DAMN FREAKING 77 days to the first 'A' level paper!

I have already cut my commitment to bare minimum which is no ping pong, no tuition, no adventures etc... but guess what? Why always when I am not avaliable opportunites just appear to be at my doorsteps? Invitation dinners, BGM, vocational assessment, NDP, National Day Rally, tons of exchange programmes.......I hate rejection! But I really need to get used to rejection.

Today history paper was totally screwed! 1 source-based question and 3 essays. To my horror, I could answer any of the essays questions despite flipping high and low for a question which i could answer confidently.

Question can be like:

"The Arab-Israeli conflict was a debacle that the Arabs started and perpetuated. How accurate is this statement?"

"To what extent would you agree with the view that the 1947 and 1965 conflicts between Iran and Pakistan were due mainly to Pakistian provocation".

WTF is the first word that came to my mind! Followed by all the vulgar words you can think of!
My introduction is like...Third World Debts reached a great height of....On one hand, it is the .....On the other hand....Having evaluated both argument,..... After writing crap for all the questions, i left a solid 45 minutes which I just stared blanky at my scripts. That's the time where i continued my soul-searching. "What if this happened to my A(s)?"

Seriously, i should have realised the seriousness and tune to 'desirable' studying mood by hook or by crook! On the other hand, I am really touched with my beloved history tutor today. At first, we're supposed to take the mock-prelim at consultation area. However, the consultation area weren't a conducive place to do it so we had change venue. To my astonishment, my beloved history tutor helped me with my barang barang and carried them and rushed to check if the venue was occupied. It's just mocks! MY DEAR! And yet I could feel his willingness and never say die spirit to ensure that we students do well for our papers! What really touches me is when i sent a sms to him and what he replied really makes me respect him.

I wrote:
"Mr - - - -...Pls don't put in too much effort in marking my script...i just writing rubbish...i think...sorry about that..."

He replied:
"I will still put in effort to mark as long as you do not give up."

This few words really make him a respectable teacher. I mean it! I just don't understand why none of his students appreciate him? I really feel bad when at times i also badmouth about him. I must admit that I didn't put in enough effort for history. And I can understand how disappointing to see your students didn't do well for their papers because they didn't put in effort at all as i am also a tutor overall.

I have been through so many major exams be it school mid-years, school final years, N levels, O levels. My instinct for this coming A level is really weird. The feeling that i can't comprehend! I also have realised how poor my english is? My handwriting is getting worst! My grammatical errors are coming back! My past-prefect tense! OH GOOOOSHHHH! I even come to a point of time asking myself this question," What am i doing in HC?" But wait, let me clarify! I never regret anything in my life. I never regret coming to HC okay! I am just grumbling! I always remember this saying "没有三两三，那赶上梁山？" I'm prepared for all this bullshit(or what u call stress pressure). Really! I just don't know why everything didn't go on that smoothy. It is really hard to imitate a 华中生. I really don't feel a sense of belonging in 华中. It is rather pressurizing to have 华中written all over your face where you know you do not have the knowledge. I rather be myself which means that I am going to heck about the final results! As long i tell myself i have tried my best 就对得起自己. Whatever the results going to be just 顺其自然. What i care now is the proccess. My experience with my 3 classes in HC were great! Seasons weren't the way I planned but never mind. What can be done now is just to cherish every single moments in school, getting-a-long, mugging at computer lab, mugging at class bench to late night or whatever! They are not going to vanish.

I realise that at the end of the day, all i have is myself. Yet i am terrified of losing what little i have. "It's hard to forget pain, but it's even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from it."

Hey ppl! The member of the SaEints with many many many many holes back again! I am proposing a steamboat buffet dinner on the 7th August 2007 evening. The details are as follow:

I shall break down on what we are going to do alright.....
First, we will meet up and talk cock while waiting for those late-comers?!??! "who ah ? who ar? (act blur) "
Second, we will board the 'EMPTY' SBS bus to CHONG PANG seafood buffet restaurant.
Third, then we shall fry the fattest guy and girl in SaEints (cut cost! so in fact we just need to rent the pot can le!) just kidding!
Next, after filling our stomach...we can choose to go the near-by arcade to play pool, bowling or arcade. I suggests that we bring along our books to mug! MUAHAHA!!
Last but not least, take the 'EMPTY' SBS bus back to Marina Bay MRT den home sweet home.

Because the following day is a National Day celebration, i assume that we all can stay out late. On the other hand, i am actually the one craving for the marinated chicken there??! And of course, we can order beer while indulging in such delicacies!??! Furthermore, it is to celebrate National Day and ....... (next paragraph)

Due to the fact that i am on leave that day because of unforseen circumstances, I need to go for further vocation assessment at paris ris camp!?!?! "NANBEI!" -.-" It is 6 damn hours long!?!? It consists of

i) Psychology Assessment
ii)Physicall Fitness Assessment
iii) Medical Screening "WHAT THE F - - -!"
iv) Interview

Just to share abit of experience from the previous vocation assessment at CMBP builing. I only got 1 word to phase it "FUDGE!". The 1st station is photo-taking and have this dunno what rank, officier i think, comb ur hair nice nice, spray water and help u wear the uniform and touch touch touch. Opps! But i lucky, hair short dun need to comb plus i wear the uniform myself kay? U think baby ar??!?! The 2nd station is the most interesting and and and....ARGH?!?@?%$#%^& This station requires YOUR wee wee to play a small part by contributing abit of ur wee wee 'essense' to the small little opening flowerpot. After that, you will use an holy pole to stir the essense and see if ur holy pole has turned into a evil pole or a magic wand. Those that got magic wand will proceed for sap collection. Without saying, i got magic wand la! Collection of sap should be female profession, but but but........this female but collect my sap was what a total embarrassement! She poke the needle-liked device into my right-subtree and hoping to collect some sap but unfortunately there are limited flow of sap. Then she somehow got impatient thus twist and turn the device hoping to retrieve the sap faster. After 10 sec of twisting/jerking/shaking/blah blah blah...i was like WTF ~!@#$%^&@! den she say "we need to do it again on ur left subtree. She got a male to do the collection and this time round i got impatient and decided to speed the sap collection process by pumping hard on my left subtree. Dun need to say, the sap spilt up in split seconds! The most irritating part was that female commenting that, "should i throw these sap away? " WTF!! I was thinking how great if i could use my wee wee power to drown her with my toxic essense!?!?

AIYA...i lazy to type out the whole process la....still like have 1...2...3..4....5...6...I wheregot energy to type out every stations?!? IF u interested, come and ask me personally?!...OK OK! please wish me good luck on the day alright and hope the class can give me some moral support by going down to marina to have steamboat with me ya?!?! Hey! SaEints! Have not been posting for ages man! While everyone is in the midst of mugging hard for blocks, i'm here to propose the upcoming outing. It seems that there are alot of activites going on on the 7th July 2007, Saturday.

Firstly, it is the Radin Mas CC YEC BGM held on 7th July 2007 at Cathay Cineleisure 10am. The highlight of the BGM is the screening of the movie,"The Transformer" at the price of $5 per pax! Good deal...isn't it? Of course, there will be some election process of the new elected members which required people with PAssion card to vote. Hopefully, it would not last for more than half an hour. The movie is likely to end at 1pm afterwhich we can go for lunch together and do a little bit of shopping.

There are also programme line up for the 2nd part of the day which is the Orchard Road Road Fiesta organised by Tanjong Pager GRC. The guest of honor is our only beloved AH GONG MM LEE! Honestly, i am supposed toget around 20 people to support the event. CIP hours will be provided =X. Furthermore, t-shirts will be provided! The programme for the Fiesta @ Orchard Road is below:

BOP (third set of international trade notes) is NOT tested.
BOT (first set of international trade notes, page 16 onwards) IS TESTED.

from Juniors' blog, for those who didn't see the tag, or can't be bothered to go there, or something.

A big sorry to the seniors for postponing JTS for so long. JTS is now more or less fixed on 14th April, tentatively at Vivo. There's a lot of nice restaurants there at vivo and we can check them out.

The reason why it isn't on 7th April is because there is council camp for the new councilors as well as 小黄城 for Chinese Society people. There's H1 chinese test on 14th April but it should be okay since JTS is in the evening.

If all's good, JTS details should be as follow:

Please note that we will be paying for the whole meal. The seniors do not have to top up the rest.
